3,573 people lost their homes due to eviction action by councils and housing associations in 2007/08.
Every day, we see tragic stories in the news about struggling homeowners having their houses repossessed, however twice as many people are losing their homes to eviction action.
Shelter wants to draw attention to the number of people being unnecessarily evicted from their homes. We want to see more help for social tenants, like the help offered to homeowners. We want to encourage social landlords to exhaust every measure before considering eviction.

West Lothian
